McGILVERY INQUEST

An inquest into the death of Clifford McGilvery will take place May 12 at 9:00

am in Court Room #7, Provincial Court House, 1815 Smith Street, Regina.



On Nov. 10, 1999, the 18-year-old inmate of the Regina Provincial Correctional

Centre was transported to Regina General Hospital due to a severe headache. He

remained at the hospital until his death on Nov. 12.



Section 9 of The Coroners Act requires an inquest be held when an inmate dies

in a jail, penitentiary, lock-up or correctional facility.



In addition to establishing when and where the death occurred and the medical

cause of death, the Coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar

deaths in the future. Inquests are open to the public.



The presiding coroner will be Dr. Dianna Ghaniabadi.
